New Mexico - part two
Rufous Hummingbird
The hummingbird feeders attracted many, both locals and those just passing through, inspiring much aerial dogfighting and general entertainment; all beautiful, and at point blank range. This Rufous marshalled one of the feeders passionately for a couple of days, taking on all-comers, which in addition to its brethren could include anything from a bee to a human.
A walk at dawn on the 24th began with a (friendly) stand-off with this Coyote, just beyond the fence at the end of the drive.
