Arguably both the most bizarre, and our favourite, mammal of the trip, Malabar Giant Squirrels are multi-coloured, over-sized beasts of the canopy, supposedly shy and inactive by day - in our experience far from it, and often so good as to put on acrobatic shows in the branches above us.
