The local Kittiwakes decided to start building their nests today en masse, prompting a procession between the beach (for materials) and the cliffs, with occasional pit stops to bathe in Carr Naze pond. Amongst other surveying projects upcoming, I'll be monitoring a section of the colony here over the coming months for the RSPB, so more on these most beautiful and charismatic of gulls to come.
