Yellowstone, June 2011 - Bison & Moose



Yellowstone provided innumerable wildlife highlights, perhaps none more breathtaking and awe-inspiring than Bison. We were lucky enough to see thousands of these formidable, truly wild mammals, from those within a couple of metres of the car, to vast herds populating open savannnah.










No better reason for a traffic jam - especially when road-rage has been known to result in human kebabs



Permanently warming geysers often attract large numbers in the winter months, but even in the summertime individuals stop by for a mud-bath




Despite the presence of thousands of Elk, we were warned that coming across a Moose is very much a shot in the dark; hence, we felt very lucky to find this beautiful beast grazing on the woodland edge behind a coffee-stop....
