Yellowstone, June 2011 - Mountain Goats

To stretch the point of our good fortune in Yellowstone, we were also warned that, if we'd get any views of wild Mountain Goats, they'd most likely be at great distance and way up on rocky outcrops. Driving out towards the north-west entrance/exit at high altitude, a group of perhaps ten appeared in front of us, taking their time crossing the road - to the degree that we had the chance to quietly get out and stand alongside them as they headed up the mountain.

The group consisted of males, females, young and old - the eldest being dignified, gnarled old bruisers, and the youngest, well, Disney-esque.
