From the crumbling strata of Carr Naze's south-facing slopes in mid-June, a fantastically entertaining family of Sand Martins. Occupying a nest hole nowhere near the established colony further down the bay (but within worryingly easy reach of human hands), happily they all fledged successfully and staged many clumsy test-flights before finally looking towards a virgin African voyage.
